A glamorous South Yarra penthouse last sold by trucking magnate Lindsay Fox’s wife and daughter has hit the market again.

The two-bedroom pad at 9/45 Marne St, in the suburb’s prestigious Domain precinct, is just a short drive from the $50m Irving Rd mansion in Toorak which has been tightly held by the Linfox founder and his wife, Paula Grace Fox for more than 20 years.

CoreLogic records show Ms Fox bought the South Yarra apartment for $2.53m in 2015 with one of the couple’s six children, Melbourne-based Katrina Fox, who manages the Fox Family Foundation’s charitable donations with her sister Lisa.

The pair offloaded it for $2.675m in 2018, though it is unknown if the Fox’s now live at their Irving Rd digs — where Mr Fox was believed to have once hosted a former US president — or at their $30m Portsea mansion.

Katrina also once resided at a one of Australia’s most iconic heritage mansions in Sydney’s Elizabeth Bay, known as Boomerang, after her billionaire father splashed $20m on it in 2005 in her name.

The stylish Marne St home in South Yarra is now for sale with a $3.4m price tag and features Venetian polished plaster walls, oak floorboards and a glitzy kitchen with a marble island bench, stainless-steel work bench, and Gaggenau and Miele appliances.

Two spacious bedrooms both come with stone-clad ensuites, while the open-plan living and dining room sits alongside a third bathroom and study nook, all leading out to a private balcony.

Marshall White Stonnington agent James Paull said the penthouse had attracted “diehard” Domain Precinct buyers wanting to capitalise on a property that was unlikely to hit the market again in the near future.

“It has immediately impressed the who’s who of the market,” Mr Paull said.
