Serena Bolden has scored the Philippines' first-ever World Cup goal, leaping above the Kiwi defenders to head home an excellent cross.

It was completely against the run of play, because the Ferns have been in control of basically the entire match so far, but couldn't handle the attacking raid from the Filipinas.

A long free-kick came in and it was headed clear but to the feet of Sara Eggesvik, who turned, beat a defender and put the cross in perfectly between CJ Bott and Rebekah Stott, with Bolden leaping into that gap and getting a shot on target.

It was straight at goalkeeper Victoria Esson, but she couldn't handle the close-range effort and the ball found the back of the net.
