‘Hindson House’ at 3440 Point Nepean Rd, Sorrento was last listed almost half a century ago and was originally commissioned around 1870 by Supreme Court Judge and former Premier of Victoria George Briscoe Kerferd.
He was one of the shortest serving Premiers, at the helm for just over one year from 1874-1875.

From 1971 St John’s Home For Boys took over the property and turned it into a campus to house six children comprising three cottages.

Buxton Sorrento agent James Redfern said the estate was then sold to the father of the current vendor in the 1980s and has since been held by the same family.
“It was originally a three acre land holding, which is quite a significant land holding for that part of Sorrento on the cliff,” Mr Redfern said.
“Over the years, (the owner) subdivided it into three allotments, each allotment being approximately one acre.
“Now there are three houses but the one that we’re selling is Hindson, which is the original home.”
