Roosters coach Trent Robinson won't blame the errors and penalties for his side's loss, but he isn't happy about the shove for the Katoa try.

"I don't think that was the issue, to be honest. I felt like the rhythm of the game was there to be had," Robinson said.

"It's really clear. The rules are really clear. They came out at the end of the year and if you lend weigh to a runner in a tryscoring position it's a penalty.

"Did he lend weight to the play? Yes, he did. It's not that hard, it was really clear."

He also thinks Watson was taken out by a disruptor for the final Coates try.

"It's really simple, the rules. Both of them were really clear. There's been too many of those decisions.

"It hasn't been good enough. It was really simple, these decisions."

Tedesco agrees, he thinks there's been plenty of calls the NRL has apologised for on Mondays that have hurt the Roosters in matches this season.

Robinson says his team needed to play with better combinations in attack. Tedesco says their shape wasn't good enough.
