The Australian Federal Police (AFP) have charged a former immigration detainee with breaching curfew conditions, including strict monitoring device rules.
The ABC understands the man was among 149 detainees released after the High Court ruled in November 2023 that indefinite immigration detention was unlawful.
The 42-year-old Burundi-born man was arrested in Perth on Wednesday.
Police have charged the man with breaching the conditions of his Commonwealth visa between April 26 and May 1, including five counts of failing to observe his residential curfew obligations and one count of not keeping a monitoring device in working order.
The offences carry maximum penalties of five years imprisonment or up to almost $94,000 in fines.
The man is due to appear in Midland Magistrates Court on Thursday afternoon.
Six other people have been arrested by the AFP with allegedly breaching their curfew conditions in the past month.
The High Court cohort is subject to strict visas, including curfews and monitoring bracelets, and face criminal penalties if they breach those conditions.
Earlier this week, it was revealed one of the men alleged to have bashed an elderly Perth woman unconscious in a home invasion was also released from immigration detention after the High Court ruling.
Majid Jamshidi Doukoshkan is in custody until his next court appearance after being arrested over the weekend.
