Target the teals. That's one Liberal Party strategy for the next federal election, according to frontbencher Michaelia Cash, who slammed the independent MPs on Channel 9 this morning.
"They masquerade as teals – they are not teals. They side with the Labor Party and the Australian Greens," she said.
"There are some of them more green than the Greens.
"For me, it's very clear at the next election — we're actually going to go after the teals because they duped the voters," Cash said.
Teal MP Monique Ryan dismissed Cash's comments.
"Australians are struggling through a cost of living crisis, with their most immediate concerns being the cost of energy, housing, and the supermarket shop," she said.
"If Peter Dutton's Liberals want to win seats like Kooyong, they should be working on cost of living relief, not wasting time on personality politics."
