A new development that will provide more than 2,000 homes for Queenslanders is in the works, with the first window to purchase arriving in early 2025.

‘Rivermont’ has begun construction from property company Stockland, with 175 hectares dedicated to around 2,050 homes for South-East Queensland (SEQ) residents.

This will be Stockland’s third masterplanned community in the Moreton Bay region, following Newport and Kinma Valley.

The development is part of a long-term plan from the Queensland Government to grow the city of Waraba, formerly known as Caboolture West.

The city was recently declared a Priority Development Area, expected to accommodate around 70,000 people in 30,000 homes over the next four decades.

Stockland’s General Manager of Queensland Development, David Laner, said Rivermont represents a critical role in providing housing for SEQ.

“Rivermont is located in one of South East Queensland’s largest growth areas,” he said, “[Catering] to first home buyers, upgraders, young families, and those looking to downsize”.

“The community, named for the Caboolture River that flows through it and surrounding mountain views, will keep residents close to everything they need, with plans for a cafe, local convenience and childcare, all within easy access to the nearby Morayfield Shopping Centre and train station.”

The development is planned to include 47 hectares of green space, along with 3.5 hectares across six local parks to be constructed alongside it.

The build will also include a Stockland Halcyon community: a 15-hectare space for people over 50 living in the area.

Stockland is in the first stage of their build, constructing 205 home sites that will range from 124 to 970 sqm.

The first sales will launch near the start of 2025, with prices to be determined on the 20 available residential lots. Further lots are expected to release shortly following the start of the campaign.

“We’re committed to collaborating with the Queensland Government and Moreton Bay Regional Council to deliver a diverse range of housing options in the Rivermont community,” Mr Laner said.

The Queensland Government plans to provide Waraba City with a large selection of opportunities for families by 2041.

These include nine state primary schools, four secondary schools and 970 hectares of land.
