Erina home made $90,000 in just nine months.
IMAGINE making $10,000 a month from doing nothing.
Well, the owners of this four-bedroom home on the New South Wales Central Coast did after selling their house for $90,000 more than they bought it for just nine months earlier.
A young couple purchased 14 Applegum Close Erina for $1.13 million in May 2016 and sold it for $1.22 million this month.

Selling agent Jason Easton of Property Central Erina, who sold the home to and for the young couple, said this is despite the house staying virtually unchanged.
“The owners made a few minor cosmetic changes, such as adding french doors and a roof over the outdoor entertaining area, but other than that the home remained the same. There were no structural changes at all,” Mr Easton told news.com.au.
He said the couple didn’t plan on buying and selling within a year for profit, but they were the lucky beneficiaries of strong house price growth in the area when a fix-upper closer to the beach came on sale, making them decide to sell 14 Applegum Close.

“They originally purchased the home to stay there for a while but an opportunity closer to the beach came up, so they decided to sell,” Mr Easton said.
“The market in Erina has been strong for quite some time. It is a central location close to the beach and just 15 minutes away from the Freeway for those commuting to Sydney.
“I have had a lot of buyers moving from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to the Central Coast because the commute is about the same but the quality of life and type of house they can get for their money up here is far greater.”

The median house price in Erina, according to realestate.com.au, is $762,500. My Easton said house prices have risen “dramatically” in the past nine years he has worked as a real estate agent in the area.
“I can’t see any reason why the market up here wouldn’t continue to grow,” Mr Easton told news.com.au.
“There is still so much demand.”
Number 14 Applegum Close sold to a local family who plan to live in the home. It was on the market for less than 48 hours and one open inspection before a contract was signed.
The home received three offers all up and 34 groups viewed it during the campaign.
