AFL champions past and present slotted property goals on the first weekend of autumn ahead of the premiership season kicking off.
Current and former Essendon captains Dyson Heppell and Matthew Lloyd inked deals for their investments properties on opposite sides of the Yarra after both passed in.

Heppell’s three-bedroom “boom-style” Moonee Ponds terrace at 43 Chaucer St fetched $1.44 million after passing in to the eventual buyer for $1.35 million.

“The buyers were a middle-aged downsizing couple from out of the area,” said Nelson Alexander, Essendon, agent David Vaughan.
“They’ve got architects getting involved and will do a renovation and keep it as their principal place of residence.”
A sale for Lloyd’s three-bedroom Albert Park terrace at 94 Graham St was negotiated for $1.85 million after it passed in on a vendor bid of $1.8 million.
“When I bought it I had sort of just retired at the time,” Lloyd said.
“It was 2010 and I was established in Brighton, where I was living, looking for an investment and I thought what better place to invest than Albert Park.
“I was looking there and found a renovated property where I didn’t have to do any work and could rent it out.”

Lloyd said he was selling to explore other investment opportunities in the future.
A modern stunner built by former Geelong player Will Slade’s ROC Built construction company with his brother, Collingwood’s Ben Sinclair, fetched the biggest price of the three sales.
RT Edgar, Toorak, director Jeremy Fox said the striking concrete facade and use of natural light by Slade and Sinclair were stunning details.

Slade said: “I wanted to build a house for Ben and I to live in that was close to all the things we love about Melbourne.
“Its proximity to Hawksburne and Toorak village and Chapel St plus parks and public transport offer great opportunities that align with both our lifestyles.
“Unfortunately, we are having to sell the house as I am relocating down to the Mornington Peninsula in order to grow the business down that way.”
