THE biggest block on a street in Geelong West has sold under the hammer and created a street record in the process.

The 765sq m property at 20 Clonard Ave attracted two bidders at auction and both were determined to buy the property.

The successful bidder is from Newport and secured the property for $852,000.

With plans to use it as an investment for the time being the Newport buyer said he was attracted to the property because of the land size and floorplan and the fact that it did not need any structural work done to it.

“We like the lifestyle down here, we will use it as an investment and hopefully move into it in the future,” he said.
