With the move from the WACA to Optus Stadium, the match will also break the record for the number of tickets sold to a Perth Scorchers home and away season game, and will make it the most attended BBL match of the 2018-19 season so far.

Of the eight BBL games already played this season, the Adelaide Strikers are leading the attendance stakes, with 34,214 people watching the Melbourne Renegades beat the home-town team.

The Strikers, who play their home games at Adelaide Oval (55,000 capacity), had the most supporters during the 2017-18 with an average of 35,255 fans attending each match.

The Perth Scorchers finished the 2017-18 season fifth for home game attendance numbers, with an average 26,752 people attending their six home games.

Five of the matches were held at the WACA - which holds a capacity of 20,000 people - and one semi-final match at Optus Stadium, with a capacity of 55,000.

With the new crowd capacity at Optus Stadium, The Perth Scorchers are in contention to be the most supported team in the BBL this year.

The current record attendance for a BBL match at the new venue is 52,960 recorded at the 2017-18 semi-final Perth Scorchers match against the Hobart Hurricanes.
