Access to the river, the beach, dining and business makes Isle of Capri appealing.
INTERSTATE buyers aren’t the only ones looking to upgrade their lifestyles in the wake of COVID restrictions.
While southerners are lining up for acreage and beachfront real estate, Isle of Capri is emerging as a go-to postcode for locals looking for a luxury boat-about-town life.
The Surfers Paradise enclave has experienced a spike in sales in recent months, with locals snapping up homes on key streets.
38 Amalfi Dr, Isle of Capri is among the most-viewed listings in Queensland this week.
Amir Prestige Principal Amir Mian said his team had made $67 million in sales on Isle of Capri in the past five weeks.
“The most demand I’m seeing in the marketplace right now is on Isle of Capri,” he said.
Amir Prestige agent Carlie Mills sold a five-bedroom house on 1019 sqm at 15 La Scala Court for $1.725 million last month; Harcourts Coastal agent Mitchell Lambert sold a three-bedroom house on 506 sqm at 16 Naples Ave for $1.94 million; while Kollosche’s Duncan Longmore sold a four-bedder on 635 sqm at 26 Gibraltar Dr for $1.725 million.

The new $40 million Isle of Capri bridge is set to fuel that demand further, according to Mr Mian who said the new bridge opened up the market to luxury boat owners.
“The bridge will be higher which allows bigger boats to get through,” he said.
“Locals can jump in their boat and pull up at Capri on Via Roma. The kids can go in and have their fish and chips or sushi, mum and dad can have a glass of wine, then off you go.
“That lifestyle is the ultimate in Gold Coast luxury.”

Once complete, the bridge will provide an increased clearance height of 4.5 metres to allow larger vessels on the Nerang River to pass underneath.
Real estate savvy Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate pre-empted the impact on Isle of Capri when he announced funding for the bridge last week.
“The value uplift for Isle of Capri is that it will be an easy place to get to Surfers Paradise or HOTA and Bundall, it’s going to be sought after,” he said.
26 Gibraltar Dr, Isle of Capri sold for $1.725 million in September.
Easy access to the night-life and beaches of Surfers Paradise, the restaurants and glamour of Broadbeach and business in Bundall also added to the appeal, said Mr Mian, who added that entry level properties in the area were still relatively affordable.
A two-storey designer residence fronting main river at 38 Amalfi Dr, Isle of Capri was among the top 10 most-viewed Queensland properties on realestate.com.au this week.
No price is offered on the listing which boasts glittering views of the Surfers Paradise skyline, an outdoor kitchen with commercial grade beer taps, a pool, jetty and boat ramp.
