The Pendleburys have bought a new home for $7m.
Scott and Alex Pendlebury’s two-year search for their next renovation project ended when they fell in love with a house in Melbourne’s Bayside area.
The Collingwood champion and his nutritionist and presenter wife bought the property with a pool and tennis court in May for an undisclosed price, understood to be $7m.

Alex says the couple plan on doing a renovation of the interior.
They moved in with children Darcy and Jax, and Golden Retriever dog Lenni last week, after selling an Elwood house they built.
Alex said she and Scott started looking for their next project almost as soon as that home was completed, after previously renovating Williamstown and Albert Park houses.
“We didn’t want to build again, we wanted to renovate,” Alex said.
“We really wanted our newest project to be an older house with good bones.”
The new five-bedroom home features a split-level formal lounge room and dining area, poolside games room and wet bar.
Alex said she and Scott fell in love with the landscape around the house including the hedging and palm trees, with the greenery reminding her of growing up in the leafy northeastern Melbourne suburb of Research and her husband of his country childhood.

“It just had so much potential and we loved the charm of the house too,” she added.
The couple plan to live in the abode for about six months before deciding upon their renovation plans.

“We will definitely be keeping the bones of the house and modernising the inside,” Alex said.
They do not know much about the property’s history but have found out it was built pre-1985 and stood vacant for five years before they purchased it.
“I think it was going to be bulldozed, we were happy to save it,” Alex said.
Young Jax is particularly delighted to have a newer, bigger back yard compared to their Elwood property and Scott is keen to install a basketball ring.
“He is definitely excited to have a bit of a backyard to kick a footy in,” she said.
The bar area is large enough to fit a pool table.
Scott plans to play a lot of tennis and basketball at the home.

“And Scott will play a lot of tennis and basketball with his friends, I think.”
Fredman Property Group director Joel Fredman, who sold their Elwood home for $6.5m, and Hodges Sandringham’s Nick Sinclair and Paul Bond had the listing.
