They called the Thirroul property home for four years until he returned to the United Kingdom in 2020, having been a key player in the Dragons line-up.

The couple had paid $1.5m for the new home in late 2015, a year after Widdop made his debut for the Dragons following his move from the Melbourne Storm, where Widdop started his career in 2010.

The home was listed in April with a guide of between $2.8m and $3m from Molenaar + McNeice agents Laurie Johnston and Daniel Mulholland, who had noted that the vendors would “meet the market”.

They recently accepted a $2.25m offer.

Carley and their three children had been living in the home since Widdop joined Warrington Wolves in 2020.

Widdop tried to secure a contract back in the NRL last summer, but returned to Warrington before recently signing a three-year deal with the Castleford Tigers, in the north of England.
