Stretching views from this stationary Priscilla.

Just moments from the heart of Castlemaine in Barkers Creek, a sweeping hilltop property boasting stunning views and its own studio apartment inside a converted bus is turning heads on the market.

The four-bedroom, Hamptons-style farmhouse at 130 Congdon Rd has been loved by its vendors for about 20 years, in which time they raised their four children at the property and completed several upgrades.

This included installing what they’ve dubbed a ‘glamper’s corner’ — a 1930s double-decker bus converted into studio accommodation in the garden.

Hamptons vibes in the country.

Though this might seem like the perfect place for a teenage bedroom or hide-out, Belle Property Castlemaine principal Rob Waller said the vendors made use of it as a quiet space to retreat when their kids had sleepovers or friends at the house.

“They would light the fire in the middle bunker and have some quiet time,” Mr Waller said.

The retro bus was originally sourced from Melbourne and the owners were told it once served as a vehicle for mobile music lessons with Brashs, a former Australian music and electronics retailer.

In the garden at the country property it sits alongside a sculptured metal hut with a “Cantina-style” outdoor bar and fireplace.

Plenty is packed into this sprawling property.

“You can really see yourself sitting there on a cold autumn day, having a drink and taking in the view,” Mr Waller said.

“The special thing about the property is it has amazing views and it’s very private, but also has 20 years of growth on the garden.”

The double storey house features a spacious, open-plan living room with a wood fire heater and French doors leading out to the balcony, which offers expansive views across Mt Alexander, Mt Franklin and the wider Daylesford region.

Vaulted ceilings with exposed timber beams add to the country feel, as does the French provincial-style kitchen with a Falcon oven.

Cosy atmosphere in the dining room.

There’s also an outdoor yoga pavilion overlooking the dam, a basketball half court, fruit trees and a chicken coop.

Mr Waller added that at the bottom of the property’s hill on the Midland Highway was The Little Red Apple produce store and cidery, which was an easily accessible option for purchasing fresh produce.

“It’s a really cool little spot,” he said.”

The 4.05ha estate has a $1.9m-$2.075m price guide.
