Cook like Brad Pitt in this Beaumaris beauty that has an Italian-designed kitchen with links to Ferrari.

And it is not the only part of 9 Griffiths St where there is more than meets the eye.

The home also features an unusual slab beneath its basement that allows for a massive open-span design to accommodate eight cars. And there is a second slab with in-floor heating between it and the ground level.

But the kitchen is undeniably its heart, showcasing a curving, slick design that is unique to luxury brand Snaidero’s high-end Ola kitchens.

Pitt had a similar one in his Los Angeles family home with Angelina Jolie, and the high-end cooking spaces are collaborated on by Ferrari-linked engineer and design team Pininfarina.

“It’s one of three in Australia, and the other two are in Sydney in $20m or so penthouses,” said Nick Johnstone partner Bert Geraerts.

Snaidero’s Ola kitchen has only appeared in two other Australian homes.

While the owners have rarely used the culinary Pitt stop, its curves helped define much of the home and are reflected in the bending form of a 7m-high void that soars above the adjoining living area. A floating staircase draped in marble adds another design highlight to the space.

There is a second imported kitchen tucked out of sight behind the main one, which has served up plenty of entertaining fare without putting a mess on show over the years.

With a north-facing aspect and extensive glazing, the home’s rear living hub is filled with natural light and opens to a sheltered outdoor zone with a barbecue kitchen and landscaped gardens.

A home office as well as a formal dining room and a living area with a fireplace are set at the other end of the home along a central entry hallway.

The home’s staircase is supported internally and lined with marble.

The upper level hosts four bedrooms, three of them with an ensuite, two with a walk-in wardrobe and the main with a modern fireplace imported from France.

Mr Geraerts said that despite the almost 900sq m of interior space at the home there was a cosy aspect to every room thanks to its clever, zoned design.

“It’s a beautiful, big, but comfortable house,” he said.

But for all the charm of the home’s upper levels, Mr Geraerts said he expected many buyers to initially gravitate towards the 385sq m basement with ceiling heights all at least 2.5m high.

Its uncommon post-tension slab allows for the super-sized garage without support columns, but it also features a home theatre and living spaces, including a spa, sauna and wine rack storage for hundreds of bottles.

The open-span garage easily accommodates eight vehicles if desired.

There is also a lift between the home’s three levels for convenience.

“It’s pretty much got it all,” Mr Geraerts said.

This includes four zip taps around the home, Miele appliances and Libra fridges in the two kitchens, a gym area with the cinema, imported marble, chandeliers, rose gold tapware and American oak floorboards.

There are also solar panels on the roof and a smart home system that lets residents control the garage door, intercom, temperature, blinds and lights via a mobile phone.

The house is zoned for Beaumaris Secondary College and Mentone Girls’ Secondary College, it is a short walk to shops, eateries and the beach.

The main bedroom is warmed by an imported French wood-burning heater.

The bathrooms also feature curvaceous designs reminiscent of the kitchen.

Mr Geraerts said he was expecting inquiries from local families, returning expats and international migrants.

The home at 9 Griffiths St has a $5.5m-$6m asking price.
