A Vaucluse beachfront mansion owned by the former General Pants executive chairman Phil Staub and Jackie Vidor has sold for circa $21m.

The six-bedroom, seven-bathroom home with double garage at 4 Parsley Rd hit the market with an $18m price guide via Laing and Simmons Double Bay principal D’Leanne Lewis and Jacob Hannon at the start of February and was a Wentworth Courier House of the Week.

Expressions of interest were due to close on March 8, and it’s understood Lewis had been dealing with three buyers. It took a little longer to negotiate the final price and longer settlement that the vendors had wanted.

Lewis sent an Instagram post on Friday saying the property had “just sold”.

“So pleased for my amazing Vendors and excited for the lucky Purchasers to call this immaculate Beachfront Beauty their new home”.

Sources confirmed to the Wentworth Courier this morning that the mansion fetched circa $21m, but the purchaser’s identity is unknown.

For the house of the week feature, Lewis said: “It’s extremely rare to find a front row setting like this, especially with the incredible view.

“The most special thing about this beautiful home is its direct beachfront access with a wide waterfrontage.”

Staub and Vidor, granddaughter of the late billionaire Victor Smorgon, bought the 1128sqm property in 2006 for $6.1m, according to records, and set about renovating the original 1980s house.

Early last year the couple sold their major shareholding of General Pants Co to Alquemie Group, the umbrella group with an interest in Lego, Surfstitch, National Geographic as well as Ginger and Smart.

The house is located right on the beach at Parsley Bay in Vaucluse.

The deal was reportedly inked for $60m. Still in the rag trade, however, the pair remain major shareholders of fashion brand Ksubi, which they co-own with Jackie’s family business, the Victor Smorgon Group.

The couple are now downsizing from their beloved Parsley Bay home.

Positioned right on the beach, the house has been extensively renovated by George Livisianis Interiors and Architecture to maximise its versatile harbour, beach and park views.

The gardens, curated by Daniel Bafsky of 360 Degrees Landscape Architects, created a private oasis, including a sculpture garden and an over-pool bridge leading to the main entrance.
