Music superstar Rihanna has a scored a new $31m paparazzi proof pad, that was formerly owned by Friends star Matthew Perry and an Aussie tech billionaire, via a huge discount.
According to the New York Post, Rihanna’s $US21 million ($A31.19m) mega-penthouse in Los Angeles is a home that was made for a worldwide pop star.
Dubbed the “mansion in the sky,” the four-bedroom, eight-bathroom, 864 sqm residence occupies the building’s entire 40th floor — big enough for the singer and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their growing family.

The residence was formerly owned by Perry, who purchased the unit back in 2017 for $20 million. Perry later sold the residence in a record-breaking sale that was Southern California’s priciest condo in 2021 for $21.6 million. He hoped to score $35 million.
Nick Molnar, the billionaire co-founder of tech company Afterpay, bought it from the actor. But it looks like Molnar is willing to take a slight loss.
Initially listing the home in October for $28 million, Rihanna was able to negotiate it down $8 million, possibly using LA’s new mansion tax implemented on April 1 as a bargaining tool.
In other words Rihanna got it for a steal.

Denzel Washington lives in the celebrity haven too.
Other famous residents at The Century include Denzel Washington and Candy Spelling, whose $35 million two-floor penthouse just above Rihanna’s occupies the top two floors of the building.
Rihanna, 35, also has another, smaller unit in the building, which spans 3,500 square feet. She has used this condo as her primary residence since 2014.
The singer also owns two side-by-side mansions in the mountains above Beverly Hills for a combined $23.8 million, but both are reportedly leased out to tenants.
