ventilation, and maximising the use of space.

The split home design won the DBAQ Regional Design Awards in 2017, and has a 7-star energy efficiency rating.

The ground floor has a two-car garage, bathroom with a shower and laundry area, a wine cellar with a capacity of over 800 bottles, a gym or media room and an outdoor patio.

“We’ve got the lake behind us, overlooking one of the golf holes and we just sit there and watch people plonk balls into the water all day long – it’s quite amusing after a while,” Shane said.

An open-plan layout features the lounge, dining and kitchen areas leading to an outdoor veranda with a barbecue area and access to the established lawn and gardens, which overlook the adjacent golf course and small lake on the top floor.

“The house was designed to be something that stood out in the Fairways Estate,” Shane said.

“(Now) it’s time to find a new challenge.”
