These breathtaking homes across the country are bound to give Lady Whistledown something to write about.

The highly-anticipated Netflix original series Bridgerton is back for a third season and in celebration, the town of Bowral in regional NSW recently transformed into the regency Bridgerton era.

For an entire week, fans of the show immersed themselves in themed shops, indulged in Bridgerton-inspired menus, and took part in writing workshops and croquet.

Fans were even graced with a surprise appearance by stars of the hit TV series Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan - known as Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington - who flew into Australia for a special launch party in the NSW Southern Highlands.

James Salmond is the owner of Ben Huon Manor which was one of the locations near Bowral that hosted the celebrations.

The architecture of the manor, which is also accommodation, lent itself perfectly to the show’s aesthetic with the design inspired by the 1790 to 1820 English country estate era.

“Bridgerton has definitely created a resurgence around the English regency period, however to find manors like this in Australia is extremely difficult, if not impossible,” explained Mr Salmond.

While face value could have visitors thinking the manor is hundreds of years old, it was in fact built just 26 years ago, designed by Mr Salmond and his wife Sandie then built by his father and mother.

Visitors snapped photos of themselves at the manor throughout the week enjoying a pretend life as a gentile yet drama-reliant resident of Bridgerton.

“Why the Bridgeton fever? I believe it’s because of all the extreme detail and elegance of the period from which Bridgerton is set in,” explained Mr Salmond.

“It's all true we may not be able to live like this all the time but so many love and value the experience of disappearing into the world of Bridgerton through film or through a weekend at Ben Huon Manor.”

Across the country, there are several properties on the market that evoke the elegance of the homes of Bridgerton from an opulent mansion in Clayton South reminiscent of the Queen’s palace to ornate staircases fit for debutants to descend at a Bridgerton ball.

Regal 'modern' manor

Chateau Blondel’ could be mistaken for a centuries-old manor, but this four-bedroom, three-bathroom home which is currently on the market was built as recently as 2000.

While this still isn’t as old as the estates featured in Bridgerton, some of which date back to the 1500s, a 170-year-old history still earns this Stirling property some clout.
