Add CategoryA NEW suburb price record has been set for Machans Beach with a Melbourne buyer snapping up a beachfront property on a street that seems to be paved with gold.
Paul Stirling of Ray White Cairns Beaches said the property at 26-28 Cinderella St sold for $2.25m before it was launched to market.

“We had a buyer from Melbourne who has been living up for six to eight months, looking for a beachfront property, and we said ‘well, we’ve got one coming up’ and we got them along when we were doing photos of the property, and it sold,” Mr Stirling said.

He said Cinderella St, at the southern end of Machans Beach, faced sand rather than the rock wall on O’Shea Esplanade.
“It was in the upper level of the ballpark we were chasing for the property,” he said

The historic Queenslander transported from North Cairns to its current location on a 1,022sq m block last changed hands in 2014 for $953,000.

Cinderella St has monopolised the top end of prices at Machans Beach – the previous suburb record was $1.195m for 2/98 Cinderella St.

The home at 34 Cinderella sold for $1.25m in October 2020.
A 2.69ha block of land on Machans Beach Rd with obvious development potential sold for $2.8m last July.
