A resort-style Nar Nar Goon property featuring a 750kg bronze bull sculpture and elephant statues is ready for a new owner to moo-ve in.
Named “Oakleigh Downs”, the four-bedroom house at 81 Oakview Lane boasts an underground wine cellar, theatre room, luxury outdoor entertaining area, saltwater solar-heated pool, spa and tennis court.
The home is being sold via expressions of interest with a $3.5m-$3.8m asking range.

Owner Theo Van Roy and his late wife Dawn spent three years designing the house which they built a decade ago upon a 1.56ha block.
“It was a dream home that came to fruition,” Mr Van Roy said.
He and Dawn married in 1968, had three sons and spent many years working side-by-side as poultry and dairy farmers, including in nearby Pakenham.

Oakleigh Downs was built with the aim of providing their family with place to entertain and conduct business.
They imported thousands of different-sized “extremely solid” sandstone bricks from China to build the house, after falling in love with the blocks’ unusual grain.

Mr Van Roy worked alongside local builder Pat Noonan on the house’s construction.
The 60sq m home’s stone kitchen showcases an imported Italian 900mm Lofra gas cooker and oven, plus a built-in buffet with a hidden wine cooler.
The butler’s pantry leads to an underground wine cellar – built with under slab ventilation to ensure airflow – that is capable of storing about 500 bottles.

The kitchen looks out to the undercover entertaining area complete with sky lights, fans, heaters, the 12m-long pool, a separate jet spa, water feature, timber merbau storage seats and barbecue.
“Around the house is like a resort,” Mr Van Roy said.
The tennis court is surrounded by high steel fencing and stadium lights, and has been fitted with a basketball ring.
Mr Van Roy said plenty of family Christmases and other events have been held at Oakleigh Downs.
“The biggest event without a doubt was our 50th anniversary, we had 100-plus people here,” he said.

The large bronze bull sculpture greets visitors as they enter via the property a sealed aggregate concrete driveway.
Mr Van Roy said he and Dawn often saw the bull at a Traralgon nursery when driving past to visit friends.
“This damn bull would catch our eyes every time,” he said.
He ended up buying the bull for $17,000, after bargaining the nursery down from the $22,000 price tag.
“It weighs about 750kg as it stands,” Mr Van Roy said.
“It looks even better all lit up at night.”

An elephant statue standing over 1.8m-tall and a smaller baby elephant figure are situated in the garden planted with fruit trees and roses.
Mr Van Roy said Dawn loved animals, especially elephants, and the animal sculptures would remain behind when he sold.
“The elephants are a memorial to my beautiful lady,” he said.
“She was a fantastic mother and marvellous wife.”
However, Mr Van Roy will take another sculpture, featuring owls, a wombat and an echidna, with him when he sells.
That particular statue, crafted by Australian woodcarving champion Brandon Kroon, stands near the front door.

Mr Van Roy said he decided to sell Oakleigh Downs so that another family could enjoy the property, now that all his children have grown up and married.

60,000 litre water tanks, a security system, rear paddocks, a dam, an electronic irrigation system and a caravan park and washing bay.
A barn-like shed with three remote-controlled roller doors, 3 phase power and a steel floating mezzanine area provides extra storage.

Unlock Real Estate Gembrook director Rachael Woodham said the shed would be perfect for a car enthusiast or home business.
Ms Woodham described the property as “like its own little resort” offering views of Bunyip State Park’s mountain tops close to the Princes Highway and Pakenham East.
